What using this site means, and what uploading something to it means.
What this is
Pakistan360 is a directory of places in Pakistan, built largely from OpenStreetMap and published under the Open Database Licence. Most of the businesses here were listed from that data rather than submitted by the business, and most of them do not know they are here.
It is run as a business. Advertising is sold on it, and every paid placement is labelled as one. Where a promotion is our own rather than somebody else's, it says so instead of claiming somebody paid for it.
Using it
- Write only about experiences you actually had, and write them truthfully.
- A review needs an account. A photograph, a correction or a removal request does not.
- No spam, no harassment, and nothing that would be a crime to publish.
- A business owner may reply to a review and may report one. Our moderators decide, and every decision is recorded.
We can remove content, and we can close an account, when these rules are broken.
What you upload, and what we may do with it
You keep the copyright in anything you upload. We do not become the owner of your photograph, and you can go on using it anywhere else you like, including selling it.
What you do give us, by uploading it, is permission: a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to host, store, copy, adapt, resize, re-encode, publish, display and distribute that content on this site, in our apps, and in material promoting either. It continues after the content is taken down and after an account is closed.
- Adapt, resize and re-encode, because every upload is converted and thumbnailed before it is ever shown — a licence that did not permit that would not permit the site to display the picture at all.
- Perpetual and irrevocable, because a photograph on a listing that vanished whenever somebody changed their mind would leave holes in pages other people rely on, and because it may by then have been printed.
- Transferable and sub-licensable, because listings are syndicated to partners and because this business may one day be sold or merged, and a licence that did not survive that would end the site with it.
You are telling us it was yours to give — that you made it, or otherwise hold the rights to grant this licence, and that publishing it infringes nobody. A photograph taken from a search engine, from a social network, or from somebody else's website is not yours to give us, and uploading one leaves you responsible for it.
What we do not do: we do not sell your photographs as stock, we do not claim to own them, and we do not stop you using them elsewhere.
If you uploaded something and want it removed, ask, and we will take it off the site — use the feedback page. The licence above continues for copies already published or printed, which is what "irrevocable" means and is why it is written plainly rather than buried.
Advertising
An advertisement you upload is covered by the same licence, for the same reasons: it has to be resized, re-encoded and displayed, and it may be shown in material about the places this site advertises.
Advertising artwork is very often drawn by somebody else. You are confirming that you hold, or have licensed, the rights needed to grant this — and if you do not, do not upload it. We would rather have the campaign than the argument.
What we do not promise
That a listing is accurate. Most of them were imported, opening hours go stale, and businesses close without telling anybody. Every listing carries a way to correct it, and corrections need no account.
That the site is always available, or that a review, a photograph or a listing will stay up. This is a directory, not a record office.
Getting something taken down
Every listing carries its own removal link, and you do not need an account to use it. You get a reference number and a timestamp. What we hold about a person is set out on the privacy page. Requests go to Haris (admin@murreeview.com), who answers within 24 hours.
